Hinton Festival is a key part of our vibrant cultural scene and is held biennially in the summer. We bring a diverse range of high quality, live musical performances to the village. Between festivals, other concerts are held in various venues in the village.

Hinton St George Festival

Over the past year the Hinton St George Festival – in its refreshed format – has catered for a broad spectrum of musical tastes. Last June Abba’s Angels got young and old on their feet at the village hall, while folk musicians Cardboard Fox from Bath drew fans from far beyond the local area with their beautiful harmonies and bluegrass influences.

Earlier this year local folk singer and musician Reg Meuross, accompanied by his daughter Lily, entertained us at the church and jazz pianist Mike Denham made a return visit with trumpeter Andy Dickens. While for devotees of classical music, the delightful Ensemble Marquise visited the Festival in June from Hungary with an early music concert in period costume – and in May 2017 a young group of musicians, the Maxwell Quartet, delivered an exhilarating performance of chamber music under the Concerts in the West banner.
